This video is something I’ve fantasized about doing for a long time. I thought it would be a great idea for a music video. Though I never ended up finding quite the right musicians to team up with. So, eventually, I decided to bite the bullet and just make it happen.
Making this video was one of the most fun days I’ve ever had.
We filmed on a sound stage in Los Angeles. I had a set built that comprised of two walls and a floor, covered in 30 square feet of canvas. I then got 20 gallons of black light paint in four different colors. And my brilliant makeup artist also made up my face that day with awesome black light makeup (which you’ll get to see more in the behind-the-scenes videos).
It’s hard to find the words to describe how it feels to immerse parts of my body in paint. The feeling of it sliding over my smooth naked buttocks. Or how it tickles me to cup handfuls of color and throw it across my chest and let it dribble down over my nipples. What a delight! And then the wonder of seeing how my movements left trails of tincture across the canvas. A picture created in motion.
It was such a liberating experience to have a vision and to bring it to life, in the messiest and most unbound way possible. I can definitely say that it would be my absolute pleasure to dive into 20 gallons of paint again… perhaps next time with another person to romp around and get messy with. 🙂
I hope you enjoy . . . (members, click on the picture to see the video).
